The ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League tournament has reached its halfway mark and the race for the top spot in the points table is heating up. As of now, four teams- Dhaka Metropolis, Khulna Division, Chittagong Division and Sylhet Division are leading the pack with two wins each out of their four matches.Dhaka Metropolis, led by seasoned all-rounder Mahmudullah, currently stands at the top of the points table with 34.76 points, thanks to their superior run rate. They have won two matches and drew the other two. Khulna Division, captained by wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan, is closely behind with 33.73 points. They have also won two matches, lost one and drew the other one. Chittagong Division, led by experienced campaigner Nasir Hossain, is at the third position with 29.25 points. They have won two matches and lost the other two. Sylhet Division, captained by Junaid Siddique, is at the fourth spot with 28.20 points. They have also won two matches, lost one and drew the other one.
The other four teams- Rajshahi Division, Barisal Division, Rangpur Division, and Dhaka Division are currently at the bottom of the points table. Rajshahi Division, captained by Mushfiqur Rahim, is at the fifth spot with 23.09 points. Barisal Division, led by Nazmul Hossain Shanto, is at the sixth position with 22.74 points. Rangpur Division, captained by Yasir Ali, is at the seventh spot with 22.45 points. And Dhaka Division, led by Raqibul Hasan, is at the bottom of the table with 19.81 points.It is still a long way to go in the tournament and all teams have a chance to secure their place in the top four for the playoffs.
